Why this training exists:
Some teacher trainings hand you a list of postures and a certificate. Others hand you a lot of language about energy and never explain what is happening in an actual human body. I wanted to build the one I couldn't find.
Training Pillars
Tradition
You will study the real material: the foundational texts, pranayama, meditation, mantra, and the history of where all of this comes from. Yoga is older than your favorite studio, and it deserves to be studied that way.
Science
You will learn how anatomy and the nervous system actually work, so you can explain what is happening in a body with confidence.
Somatics
You will learn your body's language in order to teach people, not just postures. Think, how to cue, how to read a room, and how to create space without turning a class into therapy.
More than just a body on a mat.
Learn to teach with impact.
What you will study
Techniques, Training, and Practice
Asana from multiple lineages, pranayama, meditation, chanting, and traditional practices, plus somatic movement and sensation tracking.
Teaching Methodology
Cueing, sequencing, class design, trauma-informed teaching and adapting for different bodies
Anatomy and Physiology
How the body moves, how the nervous system responds to stress, and what that means for the people in your classes.
Philosophy, Ethics and Lifestyle
Core texts, history, the yamas and niyamas, and the ethics of being a teacher. Immersion in Rishikesh, the birth place of yoga.
Practicum
No waiting until the last few weeks to practice teaching.
Teach, get feedback, teach again.
You already know more than you think, and so do your students. This is where we cultivate your expert presence.
How It Works
This training program will be a hybrid model, with live online learning as well as hands on training.

Live Virtual Classroom
Weekly live sessions on philosophy, anatomy, somatic foundations, and teaching methodology, plus home practice and assignments.

In-Person Retreat
Deep practice and study in person: pranayama, meditation, asana labs, philosophy in context, and intensive practice teaching.

Self Study & Practice
Personal reading, practice, and exploratory homework to experience all forms of yoga.
Lead Instructor
My name is Shannon.
Shannon is an experienced yoga teacher, somatic movement facilitator, and molecular biologist who teaches the body as the authority, not the instructor.
Through yoga, somatic coaching, and immersive retreats, she helps people process emotion through movement and trust what their bodies already know.
Most somatic and trauma-informed movement work still puts the teacher at the front of the room: the one who knows the pathway through, the right sequence, the right cues, the right way to feel healing happen.
Shannon's approach flips that structure. She reflects rather than directs, the student's sensation is the data, and movement becomes how people work through what they're already carrying.
